Precisely because we live in an age filled with distinctive products, this diver's watch was created with the aim of being a watch that people will value and keep using for a long time. In particular, we focused on expressing, through design, the “wearing comfort” that is crucial for a diver's watch and the “peace of mind” that makes you want to keep using it.
A softly contoured shape with minimal edges
The case and the register ring were given shapes with as few edges as possible to create a soft impression. This way, even if they bump into something, contact occurs over a surface rather than at a point or along a line, making the watch less prone to scratches and, above all, helping to avoid injuring whatever it comes into contact with—be it a person or an object. Since a diver's watch is often worn not only for diving but also for outdoor activities and sports, we believed such consideration would translate into a greater feeling of ease when wearing it. The result is a form that is comfortable to wear and minimizes stress.
One-piece construction
For the larger men's model, we have adopted a one-piece construction in which the case back is integrated with the case body to further enhance water resistance. Its ruggedness, evident at a glance, imparts a sense of assurance.
A watch that is gentle on the wearer and on the environment
For a diver's watch, water resistance is paramount. Because even a simple battery replacement calls for a water-resistance test, it's possible that when you're about to go diving, your watch has stopped and replacing the battery could take time. This model is equipped with CITIZEN’s light-powered Eco-Drive technology, so even if it has stopped, exposing the dial to sunlight for half a day is enough to recharge it. Eco-Drive is a feature that pairs exceptionally well with a diver's watch. As a diver's watch, it offers excellent usability, and because you never need to dispose of batteries that would become industrial waste, it’s gentle on both the wearer and the environment.
With everyday use in mind, its wrist-friendly, simple design—unaffected by passing trends—has earned lasting support, and since its release in 1998, it has been loved by users for many years. In 2012, it received the Good Design Long Life Design Award.
