
This website was launched so that designers could communicate the appeal of CITIZEN design in their own words. One of the motivations for this was the establishment of our philosophy of 'Designing Emotion.' This project aimed to verbalize the tacit knowledge about what makes CITIZEN unique, which had been buried in CITIZEN's long history, and systematically organized it over more than five years. During our analysis, we found that words related to 'emotion' appeared very frequently, which made us realize once again that we value resonating with the emotions of those who wear our products and evoking their latent feelings. If we can move the hearts of fans and readers, even a little, by sharing the beliefs behind the design of CITIZEN watches, nothing would make us happier.
Ideas Born from Imagination
In April 2024, I participated in "Neuron Tokyo vol.2," held at the Asakusa Mokubatei, a traditional vaudeville theater in Taito-ku, Tokyo. "Neuron Tokyo" is a design event organized by AXIS & TD that began in 2023 as a place for networking and co-creation among people involved in design and related fields. At each event, about ten companies' design departments give presentations based on a common theme. Here, I will introduce an overview of the presentation we gave at this event.

Welcome to CITIZEN’s design office. Here, product designers who work on both domestic and international products, as well as designers involved in branding, gather together. In 2018, the floor was renovated and reborn as a "place of co-creation" that fosters creative thinking and free communication. We would like to introduce the environment where CITIZEN’s designers work every day.
