The design offers a high level of comfort both visually and physically when worn on the wrist. The lines flow seamlessly from the band to the case. However, this does not end in a monotonous rhythm. When the flow reaches the case, the tempo suddenly changes. This ensures that the design does not simply end as a full-flow form, but also firmly expresses the presence of the case.
Looking at the overall finish, only the sides are given a polished finish, while the center section, which occupies a large area, features a hairline finish running from 12 to 6 o'clock. This brings out the full appeal of the stainless steel material.
Turning to the dial, its silver tone closely matches that of the case and band, which is a major characteristic of this model. By unifying the dial, case, and band in color, the flowing design is further emphasized.
The markings on the dial are also printed in white, reflecting a commitment to a consistent tone. Not only the form, but also the color scheme, designed with a sense of flow in mind, is a major attraction.

While the silhouette is sleek, the connection between the case and band is wide, creating a full-flow profile with a strong presence.

By not adding any protrusions or decorations on the upper side, the design gives an impression of smoothness and excellent wearing comfort.

The upper surfaces of the case and band are formed with large, compound curves, resulting in a soft appearance with minimal unevenness.

The flowing profile from the band to the case creates individuality by changing the rhythm at the end of the flow.

By adopting a fixed end piece structure, the side surface also maintains a streamlined form, contributing to the fit on the wrist.

The cross-section is thicker at the center and tapers towards the sides, improving how it fits the wrist. Additionally, a reverse-tapered rotation structure is used to express the flowing lines.

The upper surfaces of the case and band are formed with large compound curves, giving a soft appearance with minimal unevenness.

The silver color of the dial, combined with the sunray finish, naturally harmonizes with the case and band, giving the entire watch a unified color and texture.
ENGINEER'S EYE
Master Craftsmanship of Die Stamping
This model features a complex, non-standard silhouette for the bezel and case when viewed from the front, making the mating of parts extremely challenging and causing considerable difficulty and frustration in fitting the shapes. Back then, without access to high-performance NC machines, we went through numerous iterations, and just when we thought final assembly was complete, the fit between the band with arrow-feather–shaped end pieces and the case still wouldn’t come together. We remade the dies many times to achieve the proper match. Thanks to the die-stamping craftsmanship of the time, this masterpiece combined intricate geometries while also refining the flash-surface contours.
Because of its innovative form, adopting this model required many difficult negotiations. Even so, we continued to negotiate tenaciously, and after launch it was ultimately well received. It became a long-life model that successfully remained on sale for over 14 years using this single mold, and in 2007 we produced a model of the same shape in titanium, which was also well received.
